What must it feel like? To carry the hopes and dreams of millions of Americans on your shoulders?

As much as I hate to say it, I know beyond a doubt that the next four weeks are going to be tough. He's leading, and there are people who simply cannot stomach the idea of his beautiful family living in the White House. So please make sure you VOTE!

it's a beautiful photo.

No time or motion is wasted - and no money either - on moving products in and out of intermediate warehouses. The philosophy: Product that isn't moving isn't being distributed.

Again, Wal-Mart offers an admirable example. It has developed a system of cross-docking in which two sets of trucks - one coming from supplier factories and the other set heading for stores - arrive simultaneously at a company loading dock. Workers move the product from the first set of trucks to the second, avoiding lengthy warehouse storage altogether. The product then heads to its final destination with no costly rest stops along the way. This concept is known as flow-though or one-stop logistics.

WHY WOMEN SHOULD VOTE

i received this yesterday from my mother. an e-mail. a forward. all true. all real. and all something that each and every person with a uterus should think about. i don't care if you write in Garfield the Cat when you vote - just VOTE. do the women from your family a favor and do what they fraught and died to be able to do. because we've never known a time when we couldn't. vote to say thank you for everything they gave.

This is the story of our Grandmothers and Great-grandmothers; they lived only 90 years ago. )
my feet in the plants
every night...almost every night...chris and i come home, throw on jeans and sneakers and head out the door. pedometer strapped to my hip. we walk. and walk. we are averaging about 3 1/2 miles now each night. it's getting easier. not easy. but easier.

in 24 days we will head downtown on a saturday morning to walk 10 miles. 10 miles is a long way. but we are walking towards a cure for MS. i'm 29 years old (for another 5 weeks.) and i am walking so when my child is 29 i'll still be here to walk next to them. i am walking for a future.

what comes along with walking - is begging for money. i'm horrible at it. i feel bad. i feel stupid. i feel guilty. but just walking alone is not enough. it takes money to find a cure. it takes money to keep us healthy. it takes money for the to be a future.

so here it is. anyone have an extra $10? $20? every single dollar adds up. and every dollar helps to keep us healthy, strong and give us a future worth getting to.

Dear Mr. Delgadillo:

I was pleased to see this evening on CNN that you are looking into the premature release, into house arrest, of Ms. Hilton. It has become a sorry day for this country when we allow our children to see a that if your family has money, power, and a little bit of celebrity, you need not have consideration for laws, or for other people. Drinking and driving is against the law; there is no other way to look at the issue. Ms. Hilton was sentenced to serve time in jail. Her original sentence was generously reduced, contingent on good behavior. She spent a mere 5 days behind bars, after she got behind the wheel of a motor vehicle legally drunk. She put everyone else on the road with her in extreme danger.

I am reminded on a daily basis just what is happening our youth. An entitlement and arrogance is washing over entire generations. We can blame many thing, but until we start cracking down on the entitlement and arrogance of the people our children idolize, we can only expect to see entitlement and arrogance in our children.

I expect that you will do what you are able to see that the just and lawful thing is done in this case against Ms. Paris Hilton.

Sincerely Yours,
Sarah T. Janus

suicidal cell phone support group

I'm going to post this in my livejournal account and my myspace
account tomorrow - so if you see this a few times - you're just going
to have to deal.

this evening my cell phone committed suicide. it jumped from my pocket
and dove head first into a swirling pool of water. and swish - it was
gone forever. really. yes - you understood that correctly - i managed
to flush my cell phone away. gone. forever. swimming with the fishes!

so here is the deal - i have a new phone on its way to me - i should
have it by tuesday. great news. annoying/bad news - i have NO ONES
phone numbers. don't take offence to it. i just don't know any of your
phone numbers by heart. i don't. i barely remember my own number...so
forgive me this. and if you ever want me to call you again - ever -
e-mail me your phone numbers. your cell phone numbers, your home
numbers, your work numbers. any number you want me to have so i can
call you. i'm really not kidding - if you don't send them my way - i
can not be faulted for never again calling you. you will revoke the
right to yell at me or lecture me on the meaning of friendship - when
you haven't heard from me in months. okay? OKAY!

Hey ALL! My BFF [info]sleepstodream has a HUGE heart of GOLD! Truly! She is selling off her CD collection to raise money for the displaced animals from Hurricane Katrina. And who knows what might happen with Rita tonight or tomorrow!

She is selling the CDS cheap and there are over 200 on the list! ALL of the proceeds go to the ASPCA and The Humane Society.

It only takes a moment to peek at the list, and see if there is anything you like. If you do find anything that you are interested in, please e-mail her directly at:
